Ulvapadu Banganapalli mangoes (also known as Benishan, Safeda, or Chappatai) are a premium, Geographical Indication (GI) tagged variety originating from Andhra Pradesh, India. They are widely regarded for their large size, fiberless flesh, and superior sweetness.
Key Characteristics:
- High Pulp Ratio: Features a thin, small seed, maximizing the edible pulp.
- Superior Shelf Life: They have excellent keeping quality compared to many other varieties.
- Season: Considered a mid-to-late season variety, generally available from March to July.
- Appearance: Medium to large, oblong/oval in shape, averaging 14–20 cm in length. The skin is thin, smooth, and turns a uniform golden-yellow when ripe, often with faint, light-coloured spots.
